Glasgow University Muay Thai (GUMT)

Since 2024, Glasgow University Muay Thai (GUMT) has been more than just a combat sports club — it has been a passionate supporter of NJO Foundation Africa's mission to empower underprivileged communities. While the club is primarily known for training students in Muay Thai, the national sport of Thailand, its members have also demonstrated a powerful commitment to social impact beyond the ring.

What began as a shared love for martial arts has grown into a community that actively seeks to make a difference. GUMT has hosted multiple fundraising events with all aimed at supporting the work of NJO Foundation Africa. These events not only bring club members together but also educate and inspire students to think globally and act compassionately.

Through their fundraising efforts, GUMT has helped provide essentials like school supplies, clothing and more to vulnerable children and families in rural Uganda. Each donation has translated into real-world impact — and members have proudly followed NJO Foundation Africa’s updates, seeing the direct results of their contributions.

We are deeply grateful for the generosity, creativity and solidarity shown by Glasgow University Muay Thai. It is partnerships like these that remind us of the power of youth-driven change and how sport can be a vehicle not only for personal growth, but also for collective transformation.
